🗳️Elections

Elections are a vital component of securing efficient decision makers to effectively utilise DAO assets. The election process involves multiple phases. Election windows in Phase 2 are planned to occur at 6 month intervals as subcommittee members should be given sufficient time to advance Perion in the given area of their expertise.

Vouching

To ensure the DAO is not overwhelmed with candidate entries, every potential subcommittee candidate must be vouched for by an individual or entity holding at least 0.5% of the PERC token supply (whether locked or unlocked). This will ensure quality candidates, selected by those with the best interests of the DAO at heart.

  1. Vouching phase: 1 month prior to every election window a vouching phase will open. Within the following 2 week period, any party holding the minimum threshold of PERC token supply will be able to vouch for candidates they wish to see elected to a given Core SubDAO subcommittee. Note that the voucher must stipulate which subcommittee they wish to see the candidate elected to, and in the case a subcommittee member is to be replaced, the details of who they wish to see replaced. Vouchers must prove they meet the token threshold by signing a message with their wallet.

  2. Consensus phase Once the vouching phase is closed, an election window is opened whereby the community votes upon whether the vouched for candidates should enter the stipulated subcommittee. Votes must pass a 50% threshold via CC for the candidate to be elected. Before any consensus vote is cast a commitment from the candidate to join the subcommittee must be secured. This is to be included in the initial vouch proposal.

  3. Onboarding: Should a proposed candidate or organisation pass the approval threshold they will be whitelisted for subcommittee participation. in turn all subcommittee members that have been removed from the subcommittee will no longer be whitelisted.
